Welcome

Welcome Stranger,

My name is Brent Henderson and I have started this blog to discuss a variety of things skewing heavily towards topics involving my current work as a Systems Engineer for the Tanium and SCCM platforms. That said, you may have to endure the odd post here or there that tilts into personal issues but rest assured that they will always be categorized as such if you wish to avoid them.

Every blog starts with good intentions and I feel that this one is no different in that respect.  We are none of us islands; our successes and failures are all interconnected in this infinite and ever-expanding collision of cause/effect that we call a universe.  My development both professionally and personally has progressed at the pace that it has in equal parts because of friends, family, professional mentors, introspective analysis, tenacity, and a competitive spirit that is as useful as it is exhausting.  That melange of experience has resulted in the person speaking out into the boisterous cacophony of opinion known colloquially as the Internet.

I ultimately ended up going with the primary drivers that push most of my output when settling on a name for the blog :

  • Build: Building solutions to the problems we face is how we move forward in every facet of our lives. Try to build something every day whether it be a concept, a solution, a skill, or a relationship.
  • Break: Failure is merely the prelude of success. Great accomplishments are almost always preceded by failure.
  • Automate: If you have to do something more than once, automate it. If you have something to do once and nothing else to do, automate it anyway so that you will be better prepared for necessary automation tasks down the road.

Having waxed philosophical long enough, let’s settle into the core reasoning for this experiment that I’m conducting counter to every instinct in my body: I owe.  The knowledge I have, limited as it may be, has come largely due to the generosity of others and I feel obliged to offer something back even if that content does not draw many eyes.
